About the event

The Road to Net Zero. Partner Conference: AMDEA, City University of London and BEIS/OPSS.   2050: Appliances of the Future conference is on Wednesday 21st September 2022 and hosted at City, University of London in partnership with AMDEA and the Office for Product Safety &

The aim of this event is to build on the 2050: Fridge of the Future conference in 2021 and bring together all parties with an interest in understanding the future of home appliances and how they will help enable the net zero home.

The events will share perspectives, identify common interests and discuss how we work together to achieve shared goals.  The conference will be split into three core sessions, each with an expert-led keynote address and a panel session including an audience Q&A. Each session will consider the challenges and actions required to deliver critical sustainability goals.

There is a diverse range of speakers from BEIS and OPSS, appliance manufacturers, academia, research, industry bodies and circular economy experts.

• The Net Zero Transition Pathway - What actions are appliance manufacturers taking to reduce the ‘cradle to grave’ impact of appliance production, delivery, use, repair and recycling?

• Owner Behaviours and New Business Models - What role does the user have to play in achieving the net zero home? How do we encourage consumers to “Do it Right” in terms of purchase, use, repair, and recycling?

Registrations are open and you are welcome to book your place on the event web page where you will also find a full programme.
