Making Small Mighty: The Power of University-SME Collaborations

NCUB’s latest showcasing booklet presents ten collaboration case studies from across the UK that demonstrate the vital role of university- small and medium sized business (SME) collaboration.

One of the featured case studies originated on konfer: SME i3D robotics connected with a Robotics student from City, who helped get an urgent IS-I commercial system delivered, with bespoke automation software development.

Engagement between universities and businesses of all sizes is vital for economic growth and tackling many of the challenges facing society. SMEs account for more than 99% of registered firms and 60% of total private sector employment in the country. SMEs can achieve their goals more efficiently when supported by academics who can develop practical solutions to their problems.
