SPRINT partnership with konfer

Updated: Mar 15, 2022

The national SPRINT business support programme has formed a strategic partnership with konfer, the UK innovation brokerage service operated by the National Centre for Universities and Busniess (NCUB). konfer will support SPRINT by promoting the funding and product development support opportunities enabled by the Programme to its network of 27,000 UK space and non-space businesses.

The SPRINT (SPace Research and Innovation Network for Technology) programme provides unprecedented access to university space expertise and facilities. The partnership with konfer will promote the opportunities for businesses to access SPRINT funding and collaborate on space data and technology projects with top UK space universities.

Dr Joe Marshall, NCUB CEO, said “We are delighted to welcome the SPRINT programme to the growing innovation community on konfer, and to support their aims of reaching a wider network within UK universities and businesses”.

Ross Burgon, Head of the national SPRINT programme added: “SPRINT and konfer have a shared vision to support business growth and university/industry collaboration. The konfer platform will help SPRINT to reach a much larger and more diverse SME community that typically wouldn’t associate themselves with space innovation and funding supporting our aims to improve the uptake of space data and space technologies across all industry sectors in the UK.”

About SPRINT:

SPRINT is supported by Research England and the Scottish Funding Council. It is being delivered by a consortium of five of the UK’s leading space universities, led by the University of Leicester and including the University of Edinburgh, The Open University, University of Southampton and University of Surrey.
